Remembrance Day

Two minute silence

On the 11th of November, we would like to observe the two minute silence at 11am to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life that we have today.

We would also like to remember our veteran patients and their family who served our country, as well as those who are a part of a current armed forces family.

If you are at the practice at the time, we would welcome you to join us.

Support for the military veterans and armed forces family

Whilst many aspects of the health needs of veterans are the same as for the general public, we recognise that there can sometimes be significant differences, particularly in relation to conditions attributable to service life and the impact upon families. We have a page dedicated to support the military veterans and we would like to take this opportunity to invite all veterans to let us know if you have not done so already. You can do this via our website, phone (after 11am would be preferred to avoid the busiest time of the day), or in person at our reception.

The 14 - 18 Group: showing of film 1917 (cert 15) on Sunday 14th November 3pm - 6pm

The 14-18 group started through a shared desire to honour the sacrifice of the 281 young men from Godalming who tragically died while serving our country during the 1914-18 war.

The showing of the 1917 film at the Borough Hall on 14th November will signal an important milestone in bringing together the past and the present with young people at the focal point in the process. Those who attend will be offered replica identity dog tags produced by the REME association with links through the Godalming Roll of honour to their service history and their service history and to their address in the town. They will also receive information about the Lochnagar crater which is owned by one of our 14-18 organising group and now made into a place of historic interest and pilgrimage for peace and reconciliation.

Tickets are available from the Cellar cafe, chrisjagger42@gmail.com or on the door on the afternoon at 3pm on 14th November (online booking not currently available).
